2012 Set to the the GREATEST YEAR OF MMA!! Big News Update!!

2012 started out with a bang (literally) as the UFC the fans UFC 142 Aldo vs Mendes and Aldo showed off his impressive power. Then came Diaz vs Condit at UFC 143 which was stacked with amazing fights. UFC 144 provided the first title change as Benson Henderson defeated Frankie Edgar in Japan and last weekend we had UFC 145 where Jon "Bones" Jones solidified himself as #2 in the Pound for Pound Rankings (unofficial).  It wont stop there folk!!  At the UFC 147 Press Conference,  there was some bombshells announced that made fans think this could be the GREATEST YEAR of MMA YET!

1. Sonnen vs Silva 2 WILL NOT HAPPEN IN BRAZIL! The United Nations will be holding a conference in Rio that weekend so the fight has been changed to Vegas, to much disappointment of Anderson Silva.
2. Sonnen vs Silva 2 has been changed from UFC 147 to UFC 148! This card is STACKED! It will feature TWO TITLE FIGHTS! The UFC Middleweight Title is on the line as Chael Sonnen vs Champion and top pound for pound fighter Anderson Silva. Ultimate Fighter Season 15 coaches battle for the Banatamweight title as former WEC Champion Urijah Faber battles rival and Champion Dominick Cruz!!!

UFC 147 News

1. UFC 147 will now feature Aldo vs ???? and it will keep Ultimate Fighter Brazil coaches fighting as Vitor Belfort will face Wanderlei Silva
2. Werdum vs Mike Russow will also stay on this card.
3. The location of this card has not been announced yet. Rio is out though.

Alistair Overeem News

1. Alistair Overeem has lost his fight license in Las Vegas and can not reapply until December 27th. This was the smartest choice for him because if his second sample had come up with elevated T/E levels he would have faced at least a year suspension.

Jon Jones News

1. Jon's next title defense vs Dan Henderson may happen sooner more than later. There are rumors flying that this fight could be the main event at UFC 149.

UFC New Signing

1. Bellator's 185 Champ Hector Lombard has signed with the UFC. He went 8-0 in Bellator and is 24-0-1 in his last 25 fights. If you remember Lombard was almost signed to the UFC in 2007 but an issue with his visa caused the deal to fall through.
