Up To Minute UFC 146 News!!!!

UFC 146 has been one of the most talked about PPV's and title fights in recent history.  Storylines included an all heavyweight main card, Junior Dos Santos's first title defense and Antonio "Big Foot" Silva's debut fight in the UFC.  Then came the bombshell that Alistar Overeem's T/E ratio was 14-1 (6-1 ratio is highest acceptable by NSAC) and it looks as if, by the time of this update he is out of his title fight vs Junior Dos Santos.

  After the news dropped about Overeem a Twitter campaign to get super fan favorite Mark Hunt to take Overeem's spot took place.  This movement got so much push that even Michael  "The Voice" Schiavello mentioned it during his guest spot on MMAJUNKIE radio and Ariel Helwani talked about it on his Twitter and MMAHOUR. It does not seem as if this push will get Hunt the title shot but it was good to see his fans really stepping up.  Hunt is set to fight Stefan Struve on the UFC 146 card.

  Frank Mir was then rumored heavily to take the vacent spot. While is seemed make sense UFC President Dana White tweeted "Mir vs Cain will happen" to end that rumor. I still believe that Antonio "Big Foot" Silva will be getting that shot, but only time will tell.

  A developing storyline as of 4/7 is that Dan Henderson, who mmacagechatter.com reported is now the #1 contender for the Middleweight title after Champion Anderson Silva defends in Rio vs rival Chael Sonnen could take the spot. When asked about if he would take the fight if offered, Hendo tweeted "for sure". This is a very interesting idea because it would keep all the fights on the card intact.
