Knockout(s) of the Night went to Roy Nelson AND Dan Hardy
Submission(s) of the Night went to Stefan Struve and Paul Sass
Thoughts and what came out of UFC 146
- Junior Dos Santos has the best boxing in MMA and proved that his take down defense is top notch as well. His barrage at the end of round one would have stopped most of the other fights and I became a little worried about Mir his speech was slurred and still looked out of it during the round break. When asked where he was he answered "Manaylavala May 26". Goldberg and Rogan laughed but that is one sign of a concussion.
- CAIN IS BACK! He showed the world that his shoulder will not be a problem as he DESTROYED Bigfoot. That fight could have been stopped 10 times. The elbow that cut him was amazing and it was all Cain from then on. Welcome back! I believe this win sets him up for a rematch with Junior for the title!
- Roy Nelson can still pack a punch! I believe he threw 5 punches the entire fight and only landed 2. I see him facing Gabe Gonzaga or Mark Hunt in his next bout.
- Stefan Struve is more than just a gate keeper! I was in the majority that thought he would get pushed agianst the cage and destroyed by Lavar Johnson but when he pulled guard I knew it was over (look at my preview). Great job and hopefully Lavar's arm isn't to badly broken.
- Glover Teixeira has arrived and everyone, including Jon Jones better take note in the Light Heavyweight division. He looked fantastic last night!
- WELCOME BACK DAN HARDY. That guy has been through so much and hadn't won since November of 2009. He reminded everyone what made him famous, a lead left hook!
- Dana White hinted at a Cain vs Dos Santos rematch saying "I would like to see it"
